NO RELATION: HOME

My passion for music began long before I ever picked up an instrument. My parents’ expansive record collection included Benny Goodman, Sinatra, The Four Freshman, Elvis, TSOP, disco and much more. I listened to it all.

I was a sophomore in high school when sports took a back seat to music. Originally intending to take up drums, I attempted to acquire a drum kit. However, my parents were not hip to the idea of a ‘drummer-in-training’ in the house.

Instead, using the money saved from dishwashing, I bought a new Ibanez bass from a record store in the mall. I fell in love with the bass. Listening to such players as Bernard Edwards, Paul McCartney, Jaco Pastorius and James Jamerson fueled my desire to play.

Blessed with a good ear, I practiced for hours on end, and six months later I joined my friends in a local garage band. I also took lessons from a local teacher and studied theory and harmony to try to sharpen my skills on the instrument.

Since then I have played in many original and cover bands including a German band doing polkas, waltzes and swing music. Holding down the groove is what I love the most. Locking in with a rock-solid drummer and propelling the band forward is the best!
